Beauty | February Birchbox Review

A bit later than I usually like to post my monthly review of my Birchbox but I've only just gotten round to trying the products! Better late than never, I guess?

So what did I think of last month's Birchbox?

Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush
I wasn't sure how I would use this brush at first but after reading the little leaflet supplied in the box that it's recommended for use when applying highlighter or blush, it's the perfect brush for this. As I have a set brush already for my blusher, I've been using it to apply my highlighter and it works a treat for it! The bristles are incredibly soft and extremely pleasant to use over my face. However, I don't think I would swap my Real Techniques brushes for these (sorry, I'm too much of a Real Techniques fan girl!).

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Champagne
I've not actually used an eyeshadow stick before but I've rather enjoyed using this. I've been using it as a base highlighter on my brow bones and higher part of my eyelid then using my highlighter over the top. The Champagne colour is light enough to blend in with the highlighter and gives it a bit of an exaggeration look especially if I'm wearing a smoky eye. Would I buy again? Actually I probably would considering it's only £8 and it does last all day.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster
This feels quite pleasant on the skin and has a gorgeous fruity orange smell to it. It also makes my skin feel quite refreshed when applied after cleansing. However, I don't think I will be purchasing this product seeing as it costs a hefty £47. Sadly I don't have that kind of money to spend. :(

Cochine Water & Lime Blossom Hand & Body Lotion
I've been using this on my hands and with the sample size, it's great to keep in my hand bag! It makes my hands feel soft and supple and has a fresh, sweet smell to it. Although as much as I think it's lovely, I also won't purchase this again as at £19, it's certainly not cheap and I have far too many moiturisers to get through!

TheBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Blush/Shadow
I've had a sample of this before in a previous Birchbox and I'm a big fan of The Balm. The pinky tones are great for a more natural blush look as well as for a more neutral eyeshadow look. I would definitely purchase a full size version of this. I have their Louminizer highlighter which I can definitely recommend! I've had it for six months and after wearing everyday, I've used hardly any of it. At the price of £15.50, yes it's dearer than your average drugstore blusher but it is more likely to last longer.

Derm Eyes Make Up Remover Wipes
This was supplied in my box as a Beauty Bonus and I have to say, it wiped all my make up away with very little effort! I was also wearing more make up than I usually do when I used this. It didn't smell like it was fragranced but that it was just a fresh smell. As much as I think this wipe did a fantastic job, again I really don't think I have the money for it. Priced at £9.50 for a full pack of wipes and seeing as I tend to usually go through one to two packs a month, I really can't justify spending that on face wipes every month. Maybe if I get a substantial pay rise, eh? ;)

What did you think of the February Birchbox? Have you bought any full sized products?
