Blogmas Day 9 | Two foundations perfect for blemish prone skin

Do you suffer from acne prone skin? Yeah me too.

With the build up of Christmas parties closely being followed by New Year this is the time of year when you would like your skin to look good. With this in mind, I use two foundations on my skin to prevent breakouts.

Deborah Mitchell Heaven BeeBee Cream

This is more of tinted moisturiser than a foundation as it has a light coverage to your skin. I tend to use this as my everyday moisturiser for work when I don't really want to wear a lot of make up. It gives a little colour to my skin without giving it an orange tint. It doesn't feel heavy on your skin at all but actually feels like it sinks into your skin unlike some moisturisers that just sit on the surface.
I find that it gives best coverage by dusting a little powder over the top to set it. Read more about it here.

Oxygenetix Acne Control Foundation

The Oxygenetix foundation has a much thicker coverage than the BeeBee Cream and is what I would use for evening wear or for those days that my skin is having a bad day. I would describe the foundation as having a medium coverage and has a similar texture to Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation. A couple of pumps tend to cover my whole face and when worn with a decent primer can last all day without having shiny breakouts. Although it will last for about 6-7 hours without a primer which in my eyes is a good thing. I find putting the foundation on the back of my hand and then using a beauty blender to spread over the skin gives me the best coverage. However, be aware that when I compare it to Estee Lauder, I mean that it gives a matte finish and dries relatively quickly therefore you don't have much time to play around with it on your face.

Not only does the Oxygenetic foundation have good coverage and feel completely weightless on the face but it also contains skin replenishing ingredients. So if you want decent coverage on your skin but no chances of breakouts this would make the perfect choice for your Christmas parties. You can read more about my first impressions of the Oxygenetic foundation here.

What's your go to foundation?
